About the build

We worked with the homeowners of this 1930’s semi detached home to extend and remodel the downstairs to create a living space that is fit for modern living. We removed the existing lean to garage and replaced it with a brand-new vaulted roof extension that runs the length of the home.

With the new extension we were able to maintain a small garage to the front of the property, a new utility room and the rear of the extension became part of the open plan living space to the rear of the home. For the open plan living space, we knocked two existing rooms together and with the addition of the extension created one really large room. The vaulted ceiling adds to the overall feeling of space in the room and the Velux windows flood the space with lots of natural light.

In the new open plan living space, we supplied all trades including electrics, plastering, plumbing, Joinery and painters. The beautiful real oak timber floor was expertly laid by our in-house craftsmen and the kitchen was supplied and fitted by one of our partners.

In the new utility room our plumbing team supplied and fitted a new boiler and replaced some of the radiators in the home. At the same time we installed a magnetic filtration system to help protect the system and prevent premature wear.

Throughout the build care has been taken to make the extension look as original as possible. Internal joinery such as the skirting board has been supplied to match the original. To the front of the property the façade is still the same as the original all be it in much better condition. White pebbledash render matches the existing home and blends the building perfectly.

The kitchen supplied is a dark blue shaker with white stone worktops and oak accents which works extremely well with the overall theme of the room. Brass handles are very on point with current kitchen design trends.

Throughout the kitchen new appliances have been supplied and installed. With the central island cooking and entertaining are a joy. Throughout the summer months the doors can be opened up to enjoy the new patio outside, and although the homeowners didn’t create a large opening multiple sets of patio doors still achieve a great indoor outdoor flow.

The end result is fantastic and demonstrates how a small extension can really transform the space on offer and ultimately improve the way we use and intergrate within our home on a daily basis.
